Despite the millennia it has been consumed, little is known about Chinese tea in the West. No wonder, China has always kept the best teas for itself, inferior qualities are destined for export. The book TEATRIP reveals knowledge and pictures that hardly anyone has seen before. Author Christian Beck, a self-confessed tea nerd, travelled to China, Taiwan and Japan repeatedly for over a decade just “for the tea”. In 2020, he took photographer Stefan Braun on a month-long trip to tea plantations all over China and Taiwan. The result: TEATRIP—already a standard work for tea lovers.
Melville CD Lars Harmsen, also professor for typography and design at FH Dortmund and editor of Slanted Publishers, was responsible for the editorial design of this 312 pagesbook, which was printed entirely on Gmund Lakepaper by Druckerei Vogl.
