Kalplata Naturals, founded by Parul Choudhary from Ahmedabad in India, is a socially and environmentally conscious agribusiness that works with small farmers owning 2 to 10 acres of land. The idea is to increase farmers income, reduce external costs, enhance capacity and opportunities, provide social recognition and promote responsibility to human health. Kalplata supports traditional and sustainable farm practices, having a close look at the health of the soil and its natural regenerative capacity, and setting sustainable standards across the value chain—processing, packaging and logistics.
Parul started organic farming in 2016 and on the journey met many small farmers who work hard but are exposed to a lot of vagaries and have lack social recognition. This gave birth Kalplata—the wish granting creeper. Kalplata therefore wishes to not only serve and nurture Mother Earth but also to create an awareness and health of the consumer who is exposed to harmful chemicals, antibiotics and hormones that is residual to conventional farm and dairy produce.
After two trips to India in 2019 and 2020 by Lars Harmsen, we created a bunch of templates and assets that Kalplata could easily implement in its communication and apply to packaging by their own.
