Michael Schmidt is managing director and partner at Melville Brand Design benefiting from a career spent in advertising agencies on numerous blue-chip brands.
Michael has gained experience in the largest agency network in the Persian Golf looking after a group of twelve BMW importers in the Middle East. He continued his account-guy skills at agencies like DDB, Saatchi & Saatchi in Frankfurt and later at Wieden & Kennedy in Amsterdam working on the Nike account. The fascination for creativity led him into advertising initially and he soon spend more time with the creatives than on 'his', the account side resulting in the rare talent to explain clients the rationales behind the creatives' intentions. After that he became advertising manager for Nintendo of Europe and was part of a task force team to launch the Pokémon brand in Europe.
When he moved from Frankfurt to Munich he moved away from advertising and turned towards design. This decision was affirmed when Michael met his future partners Lars and soon after Johannes and Florian. Michael is now responsible for business developments at Melville and the handling of key accounts. He is the main editor and curator for the platform Makers Bible.
